Real impact stories
Every pound invested in our municipal investments is used to deliver real projects. Since we launched our first investment in 2020, councils have used the money raised to finance some innovative projects that are already making a difference in communities.

Creating more sustainable swimming pools
It’s easy to focus on the bigger and more obvious changes, like solar panels and EV chargers, but when councils are planning for a greener future it’s important to look at everything. That's why Westminster Council has invested in cutting the environmental impact of its leisure centre facilities.

Greening the grey to tackle climate change
Hammersmith & Fulham Council are focusing on transforming hard, grey spaces into vibrant green areas, enhancing biodiversity, improving climate resilience and making its borough a more pleasant place to live and work.

Supporting community-led sustainability projects
Telford & Wrekin Council is taking bold steps to drive local climate action, using funds raised from its Climate Action Investment to expand the reach of its hugely popular Climate Change Fund.

Driving greener: funding public EV chargers
Cotswold District Council was quick to install electric vehicle chargers across the district. This initiative is part of the council’s broader commitment to reducing carbon emissions and making greener transport options more accessible to residents and visitors alike.

Solarising community rooftops
Back in 2020, West Berkshire was the first council to issue a municipal investment with Abundance. More than half the funds raised were used to install solar PV on the roofs of six council buildings including schools, a leisure centre, a facility for people with special needs and its own council offices.
