Green projects delivered

Hackney Council has used the funding raised in their first investment to fund an innovative solar project.

Delivering green power to council owned housing estates

The funds raised in the first Hackney Green Investment have all been used to directly fund its Residential Solar PV Pilot, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the UK.

Delivered through Hackney Light and Power, the Council’s energy services arm, this project will bring affordable, renewable energy to residents in council-owned housing estates while supporting the council’s commitment to reach Net Zero by 2040. Overall, 1MW of solar PV is being installed across 28 residential buildings in Hackney. You can learn more about the project here.

Hackney Green Investment 2 is expected to fund the replacement of windows in a local school to improve energy efficiency, as well as other eligible green projects.
