The money invested in Greenwich Green Investment will help fund a range of projects from its climate action programme. These measures are expected to include more LED lighting in its parks, installing solar panel and making green adaptations to its parks and Council buildings. Further updates will be posted once the funds are allocated to specific green projects.
All investments from Royal Borough of Greenwich Council are compliant with the Green Loan Principles. These are internationally recognised standards, also used by the UK Government for its green investments products. They require that the money raised can only be used on eligible green projects, under rules laid out in the Green Finance Framework.
